Summary Explanation/Background

Currently, the delegation request process allows members of the public to address the Broward County Board of County Commissioners (the "Board") on matters within the scope of the Board’s jurisdiction, regardless of whether the Board can take effective action on the topic at issue.  This proposed amendment to the Administrative Code permits a delegation request to be put onto the agenda only if it concerns a matter within the Board’s jurisdiction such that the Board can directly and materially affect the matter that the delegation request concerns.  The proposed amendment further requires that a speaker’s delegation request form be fully completed, identifying with particularity the subject matter the speaker wishes to address.
