Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item relates to activities in the Broward Municipal Services District. The Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD), formerly known as Unincorporated Broward County, consists of 11.4 square miles and has a population of approximately 15,006.* The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the BMSD, and provides municipal services for the area, including business and housing development, library and park facilities, roadway maintenance, street enhancements, and zoning and code enforcement.

The Resolution will convey a triangularly-shaped road easement, measuring approximately 20 feet by 20 feet, from Rocca International LLC to Broward County. The easement is located at the northwest corner of NW 28th Avenue and NW 12th Street, which are both County roads in the Broward Municipal Services District. The easement is required to provide adequate sight distance for safety and pedestrian enhancements at this intersection in the future.
The Resolution and road easement have been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office.
