Summary Explanation/Background
On October 6, 2020, the Board preliminarily considered enactment of the Broward County Locksmith Act ("Locksmith Act") establishing regulations for persons providing locksmith services in Broward County. The Board continued further consideration of the Locksmith Act to its October 20, 2020, meeting. The Locksmith Act would require that individuals providing locksmith services obtain a locksmith license or locksmith apprentice license and that locksmith businesses obtain registration certificates.
