MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between the State of Florida Department of Health and Broward County in the amount of $1,827,864, effective retroactively from October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021, to provide public health services to Broward County residents; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute the Agreement.

B. MOTION TO APPROVE waiver of conflict under Section 112.313(7)(a), Florida Statutes, for the following Broward County advisory board members holding an employment or contractual relationship with the entity receiving funds for the performance of services under this agenda item.

Why Action is Necessary
A. Chapter 154, Florida Statutes, encourages counties to enter into a contractual arrangement with the State of Florida Department of Health ("DOH") to meet the public health needs of the state through a system of coordinated county health department services; and Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Commission") approval is required for agreements with external agencies.
B. A waiver of a conflict arising under Section 112.313(7)(a), Florida Statutes, requires two-thirds approval by the Commission.
What Action Accomplishes
A. Approval allows Broward County to provide annual funding to the County Health Department ("CHD") Trust Fund and locally promote, protect, maintain, and improve the health and safety of Broward County residents.
B. Approval waives the existence of any conflict arising under Section 112.313(7)(a), Florida Statutes, as authorized under applicable law.
