Summary Explanation/Background

GRANTS ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL.

The Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs ruled in 2017 that an eligible applicant for these funds must be considered a Unit of Local Government (ULG). DOJ further defines ULG’s as an entity with taxing authority. The City of Pompano Beach applied for and received these funds. This agreement is a sub-award that will be passed through to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

An MOU will detail the statement of work, terms, and special conditions of the funding, and BSO’s responsibility of accountability to Broward County. This grant will be overseen by Grants Administration.
