Why Action is Necessary

It is necessary to schedule a public hearing of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to be held subsequent to receipt of a recommendation from the Broward County Planning Council prior to adoption of an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan.

 

What Action Accomplishes

The Resolution directs the County Administrator to set a public hearing for January 26, 2021, to consider adoption of proposed map amendment PC 20-7, which is an amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 20-7, at its September 17, 2020, public hearing and recommended approval, including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; 14-0; Yes: Blackwelder, Blattner, Breslau, Brunson, Fernandez, Gomez, Graham, Hardin, Maxey, Parness, Rich, Ryan, Williams and DiGiorgio. Abstain: Good.):

 

AMENDMENT PC 20-7

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Pembroke Pines

From a Dashed-Line Area consisting of 509.2 acres of Irregular (2.243) Residential and 49.0 acres of Commerce to a Dashed-Line Area consisting of 527.6 acres of Irregular (2.621) Residential and 30.6 acres of Commerce

Approximately 558.2 acres; generally located on the east side of Southwest 172 Avenue, between Pembroke Road and Pines Boulevard.
