Summary Explanation/Background
THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Transportation Department is requesting approval to transfer funds within the Non-Grant Capital Funds in the amount of $231,000 to fund increases to the construction costs for the Paratransit Division's relocation and renovation project at Government Center West (GCW) in the City of Plantation.

The original estimate from the Facilities Management Division (FMD) for the renovation was $165,000, and on June 4, 2019, Item No. 16, the Board approved a budget Resolution transferring funds within the Department's non-grant capital fund (transportation concurrency) for the project. Phase 1 was completed on December 31, 2019, on budget and consisted of relocating paratransit staff into new cubicles on the 2nd floor from the 3rd floor at GCW.

The prices received for Phase 2 were significantly higher than the original estimates as FMD modified the project to allow for enhancements to the customer service area. These changes require the replacement of the existing countertop. FMD has revised the project estimate to $396,000.
