MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2021-010 directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of the Governmental Center to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO TIME LIMITS FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION; AMENDING SECTION 18.6 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Broward County Administrative Code provides certain time limits for public comment on agenda items at meetings of the County Commission. If five or fewer individuals are registered to speak on an agenda item, each individual may speak for three minutes; if more than five individuals are registered to speak on an agenda item, the individual speaking time is reduced to two minutes per speaker.
The current procedures do not address how to calculate time limits when multiple agenda items are heard together.
