Chapter 5, Article IX of Broward County Code of Ordinances (“Land Development Code”) requires changes to previously approved or recorded plats to be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

Approves a plat note amendment subject to staff recommendations and conditions assuring compliance with the standards and requirements of the Land Development Code.

Summary Explanation/Background

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations and conditions.

 

This plat is located on 14.7 acres on the northeast corner of West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 27 Avenue, in the Broward Municipal Services District. The plat is restricted to 280,900 square feet of office use and 27,394 square feet proposed of industrial use. The property is owned by Broward County. Broward Sheriff’s Office plans to expand the Public Safety Complex, replacing surface parking with a multi-storyparking garage and training center building. The proposed plat note adds 105,000 square feet of office use to accommodate this development.
