Motions A. and B.: In accordance with Section 332.0075, Florida Statutes, a governing body must approve, award, or ratify all contracts on behalf of a commercial service airport valued in excess of the threshold amount provided in Section 287.017, Florida Statutes, for Category Five ($325,000).

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT/MAINTENANCE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.
The purpose of this contract is to provide an open-end contract for the purchase of John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT) parts and materials for the passenger boarding bridges at the Broward County Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
On April 9, 2019 (Item No. 21A), the Board reaffirmed sole source and/or sole brand standardizations. JBT was an included sole source, sole brand reaffirmation, and was specifically referenced in the Exhibit 1, Item 4 for Jetway airport loading bridge spare/repair parts (JBT).
The Purchasing Division performed due diligence, as required by Chapter 287, Florida Statutes, for an exception to the competitive-solicitation requirements for the purchase of commodities for a commercial service airport.
On December 31, 2020, the Director of Purchasing approved Contract No. OPN2121432Q1, John Bean Technologies Passenger Boarding Bridge Replacement Parts, for a not-to-exceed amount of $325,000.
The Broward County Aviation Department estimates a total of $400,000 of JBT passenger boarding bridge replacement parts and materials will be needed on an annual basis. The requested additional $75,000 in increased threshold for the initial one-year term coupled with authorization to renew the contract for two one-year periods is needed to accommodate the estimated annual purchase amount of $400,000 or $1,200,000 over a potential three-year period.
