Fisher Revocable Trust Fund to be deposited in the Animal Care Trust Fund for the funding of Lifesaving Programs; authorizing the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions to implement acceptance; and providing for severability and an effective date.

MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution No. 2021-096 within the Animal Care Adoption Trust Fund to appropriate revenue in the amount of $10,000 for Fiscal Year 2021 for the purpose of recognizing a donation received from the Joan E. Fisher Revocable Trust Fund to be used for the funding of lifesaving programs.

Why Action is Necessary
Section 18.63 of the Administrative Code states that donations to the County shall be accepted by Budget Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners and Board approval is necessary to appropriate revenue.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.
Approval of this motion permits the Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division to budget a generous donation from the Joan E. Fisher Revocable Trust Fund in the amount of $10,000 (Exhibits 1-4). These funds will be used to augment lifesaving programs.
Inherent in the motion is authorization for the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions required to implement the donation. The Resolution is approved as to form by the County Attorney's Office.
