MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2021-102 to transmit a proposed amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text (PCT 21-2), regarding the existing Pompano Park South Activity Center, located in the City of Pompano Beach, as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, to designated State review agencies pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended (Commission District 4), the substance of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, TRANSMITTING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN TEXT OF THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REGARDING THE POMPANO PARK SOUTH ACTIVITY CENTER IN THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body, shall transmit proposed amendments to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to designated State agencies for review.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed text amendment, PCT 21-2, at its January 28, 2021 public hearing and recommended approval, including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 17-0; Blackwelder, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, Fernandez, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Hardin, Maxey, Railey, Rich, Rosenof, Ryan, Williams and DiGiorgio):
AMENDMENT PCT 21-2
Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan text regarding the existing Pompano Park South Activity Center, adding industrial uses and reducing office uses; approximately 230 acres; generally located on the east side of Powerline Road, between Southwest 3 Street/Race Track Road and North Cypress Bend Drive, in the City of Pompano Beach.
