MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance adopting a Small Scale amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 21-5), in the City of Deerfield Beach (Commission District 4), as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, the substance of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A SMALL SCALE AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF DEERFIELD BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Small Scale Land Use Plan map amendment PC 21-5, in accordance with Section 163.3187(1), Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed small scale amendment, PC 21-5, at its January 28, 2021, public hearing and recommended approval, including not recommending a second public hearing, and recognizing the applicant's voluntary commitment to pay $500 per dwelling unit towards the City of Deerfield Beach's affordable housing programs (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 17-0; Blackwelder, Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, Fernandez, Gomez, Good, Graham, Grosso, Hardin, Maxey, Railey, Rich, Rosenof, Ryan, Williams and DiGiorgio):
