Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
West Prospect Road and Rock Island Road are County roads located in the City of Tamarac. The City of Tamarac desires to install two city gateway entry/monument signs within County right-of-way, one in the median of West Prospect Road approximately 230 feet west of NW 17th Avenue and one in the median of Rock Island Road approximately 610 feet north of NW 44th Street.
Motion A seeks Board approval of a Revocable License Agreement between Broward County and the City of Tamarac for the installation and maintenance of a city gateway entry/monument sign within County right-of-way in the median of West Prospect Road approximately 230 feet west of NW 17th Avenue (Exhibit 1). Exhibit 2 is a location map of the Revocable License Area.
Motion B seeks Board approval of a Revocable License Agreement between Broward County and the City of Tamarac for the installation and maintenance of a city gateway entry/monument sign within County right-of-way in the median of Rock Island Road approximately 610 feet north of NW 44th Street (Exhibit 3). Exhibit 4 is a location map of the Revocable License Area.
The Agreements will allow the City to install the signs within County right-of-way and will obligate the City to maintain the signs. The County can terminate the Agreements with or without cause at any time. If the Agreements are terminated, the City must remove all improvements within the licensed right-of-way and restore the areas to their original conditions or to such conditions as approved in writing by the County Administrator.
The Agreements have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney and the Risk Management Division.
