Summary Explanation/Background

As vaccines become more widely available, it can be expected that the spread of COVID-19 will decrease, allowing certain restrictions that have been put in place to protect the public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic to be relaxed.

This item will allow the Board to discuss the status of the Emergency Orders and the metrics Broward County will use to determine when it is appropriate to relax restrictions imposed by the County’s Emergency Orders. In addition, it will allow discussion of a proposed timeline for allowing in-person participation by members of the public at County Commission meetings and appropriate regulations to protect the health and safety of all attendees, such as limiting capacity and requiring social distancing and facial coverings.
