Summary Explanation/Background

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

It is the County’s intent to establish a library of qualified firms to provide compilation services, including but not limited to bookkeeping, financial reporting, and contract compliance services.

On March 10, 2020 (Item No. 62), the Board authorized the County Administrator to take necessary actions to provide for the health and safety of Broward County residents and visitors and to maintain the day-to-day business and operations in connection with COVID-19. The Board’s authorization required advanced written notice to the Board of any actions taken by the County Administrator and subsequent ratification at the next official public meeting of the Board.

The County entered into an agreement with Anthony Brunson, P.A. (Contractor), an accounting firm, to aid with invoice processing of funding in accordance with an Interlocal Agreement for funds allocated by the County to municipalities, effective on November 13, 2020 (Agreement) for a total not-to-exceed amount of $666,000. The term of the Agreement expired on January 31, 2021.

The County and the Contractor (Parties) desire that the Agreement be reinstated and that the term of the Agreement be extended to August 31, 2021, and the Parties now desire to enter into this First Amendment to reinstate and extend the term of the Agreement.  Exhibit 1 is the first amendment to the Agreement.
