Summary Explanation/Background
The FaithAction ID card is an identification card that provides cardholders with a verifiable form of identification that can be used as a tool by law enforcement, health centers, schools, nonprofits, businesses, cultural arts organizations, and other entities to better identify, serve, and protect our community members. The FaithAction ID program conforms to strict verification of identity and security standards by requiring card applicants to provide proof of identity, proof of address, and proof of date of birth as required by Section 877.18, Florida Statutes.

All Broward County residents are eligible for a FaithAction ID card. The FaithAction ID program would particularly benefit groups such as senior citizens, immigrants, foster youth, people reentering the community after being incarcerated, homeless individuals, and anyone who struggles to overcome the bureaucratic challenges of getting a state-issued identification card. Among these groups, people of color and immigrants will likely benefit the most.
