MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2021-157 of the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County, Florida authorizing the Mayor to execute and file a Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) with the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4, in the amount of $182,088, to provide funding for leases and other costs associated with Park and Rides for the I-95 Express Bus Service; authorizing the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions; and providing for an effective date. The term of the PTGA is from date of execution through June 30, 2024. There is no County match required.

B. MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution No. 2021-158 to increase the Transit Capital Grant Fund in the amount of $182,088, to provide funding for Interstate 95 Express Bus Service Park and Ride costs.

THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTIONS.
This item supports the Board's Visions and Value of "Cooperatively delivering an efficient and accessible regional intermodal transportation network."
Staff is requesting approval of a Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) that will provide $182,088 in capital funding for park and ride leases, enhancements (signage, shelter, stops, etc.), and other costs associated with park and ride lots for I-95 Express Bus Service. Funds will be used for payment of leases for the North Perry Airport and other 95 Express park and ride-related purposes.
The PTGA has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney’s Office. County approval of the Resolution and execution of the JPA is required prior to FDOT executing said agreements.
