Summary Explanation/Background

County Administrator Bertha Henry has announced her retirement from County service effective upon the close of business on February 28, 2022. Motion A of this item enables the Board to appoint Monica Cepero as Ms. Henry’s successor and directs negotiation and preparation of a written employment contract. If Motion A is not approved by the Board, Motion B would enable the County to retain a professional search firm to seek highly qualified candidates for the position of Broward County Administrator.

Motion A requires six affirmative votes pursuant to the County Charter.
