Summary Explanation/Background

THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

On June 13, 2017 (Item No. 10), the Board of County Commissioners approved a Motion to execute the First Amendment with Siemens Industry, Inc. for Building Automation Systems Services, Agreement No. R1305709P1_1, for the Facilities Management Division, which added locations and new equipment into the agreement and increased the contract threshold in the amount of $1,671,744 for a then total not-to-exceed amount of $6,280,246.

On April 2, 2020, the Purchasing Director approved an increase to the contract threshold in the amount of $28,655 for a then total not-to-exceed amount of $6,308,901.

This Second Amendment to the agreement extends the current term of the agreement for an additional 12 months with two one-month options for a total of 14 months.  The extension begins July 1, 2021 and, if both one-month options are used, runs through August 31, 2022.

This Second Amendment to the agreement also memorializes the deletion of the Broward County Courthouse West & Central Wing and effectuates the addition of the Broward Logistic Records Center and Central Broward County Addiction and Recovery Center.

Finally, this Second Amendment implements a net increase in contract threshold in the amount of $1,203,625 for services during the extension period.  With this net increase, the new total not-to-exceed amount is $7,512,526.

This amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney and Risk Management Division.

The amounts referenced in this agenda item have been rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
