Why Action is Necessary
Section 2-40(a) of the Broward County Code of Ordinances, requires that Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") authorize any commercial activities or occupancy of any portion of the Broward County's Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport ("FLL") and North Perry Airport.

What Action Accomplishes
Extends the term of the Revocable License Agreement ("License") between Broward County ("County") and L3Harris Technologies, Inc. ("L3Harris") through September 30, 2025, to allow L3Harris to continue to occupy the two radio station sites at FLL that support the Automatic Dependent Surveillance- Broadcast system ("ADS-B"), and reduces the square feet of occupancy in the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting station.

THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This action extends the term of the License between County and L3Harris through September 30, 2025, and replaces Exhibit A-1 to reflect the current square footage of occupancy in the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting station.
