A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING FEEDING SOUTH FLORIDA, INC., IN ITS APPLICATION FOR A CONTRACT TO DISTRIBUTE USDA FOODS FOR THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND URGING THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES, TO RECONSIDER FEEDING SOUTH FLORIDA, INC.'S, APPLICATION AND THE SCORING OF SAME; DIRECTING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE COMMISSIONER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES, NICOLE "NIKKI" FRIED; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

On or about January 25, 2021, the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services ("Department") advertised on the State's Vendor Bid System a "Request for Applications," Advertisement No: 225FL818Y8105, The Emergency Food Assistance Program (the "Procurement"). The Department published the Procurement for the purpose of soliciting responses from potential recipient agencies with which the Department "seeks to contract . . . to distribute USDA Foods for The Emergency Food Assistance Program" ("EFAP"). Feeding South Florida, Inc. ("FSF") submitted a response to the Procurement for Region 18 and was not selected as an awardee of the subject contract.
