Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (EPGMD), THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY, AND THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The proposed amendments update the Deepwater Port Component and Transportation Element to ensure consistency between the Deepwater Port Component and the Port Master Plan, including use of current and equivalent data and analysis, as well as non-substantive, "house-keeping" changes, such as updated plan references and dates. On June 16, 2020, the Board adopted the Port Everglades Master/Vision Plan Update. On September 10, 2020, the Board directed staff to update the Comprehensive Plan Deepwater Port Component for consistency with the Port's Master/Vision Plan Update. The Staff Report (Exhibit 2) provides a line-item list of each amendment. Attachments A and B of Exhibit 2 provide the full document with the included amendments.
