MOTION TO AUTHORIZE County Administrator to execute Agreement, subject to review for legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney, between Broward County and The School Board of Broward County, Florida, for October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021, with two additional renewal terms, to provide driver education programs for high school students in public and nonpublic Broward County schools in the approximate amount of $622,250, which is the estimated amount available in the Driver Education Safety Trust Fund; authorize the County Administrator to execute amendments to the Agreement (subject to review for legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney) that do not significantly alter the approved scope of services; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary and administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement.

Why Action is Necessary
Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Commission") approval is required for agreements with external agencies and for authorizing the County Administrator to execute agreements.
What Action Accomplishes
Approval provides for the enhancement, not replacement, of driver education programs in public and nonpublic schools using funds collected from traffic violations under the Dori Slosberg Driver Education Safety Act, Section 318.1215, Florida Statute ("Safety Act").
