MOTION TO APPROVE Federal Aviation Administration Grant Agreement for Airport Improvement Program Project No. 3-12-0025-092-2021, Payment No. 11, in the amount of $26,666,666, to accept phased grant funding in support of the South Runway Project at Broward County's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport; and to authorize the County Administrator to take the necessary administrative and budgetary actions and to authorize the Director of Aviation to execute the grant agreement and approve any non-monetary amendments to the agreement, subject to the Office of the County Attorney approving as to legal sufficiency, and take the necessary administrative and budgetary actions.

Why Action is Necessary
Board of County Commissioners ("Board") approval is required to approve a grant agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration ("FAA") and authorize execution by the Director of Aviation.
What Action Accomplishes
Allows the Board to approve the agreement and authorize the Director of Aviation to execute the grant agreement to accept Federal grant funding for the South Runway project administered by the FAA in support of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ("FLL").

THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action allows the County to accept Letter of Intent ("LOI") Payment No. 11 of phased grant funding from the FAA in support of the South Runway at FLL.
On October 27, 2009 (Item No. 57), the Broward County Aviation Department ("BCAD") received Board approval to apply for a LOI to receive funding for the extension of the South Runway at FLL.
