Summary Explanation/Background

This item, if approved, would direct County staff to cease doing business with and or end any relationships between Broward County and the Bank of America. Bank of America has purposefully and intentionally closed several of their branches and cut staffing at other branches causing consumers to wait in lines for more than one hour to complete a transaction. Bank of America continues to use COVID as an excuse claiming that their employees are sick and cannot come into work. Commissioner Bogen has spoken to several Bank of America tellers who have confirmed that the bank is not properly staffing to save money at the expense of consumers.
