Summary Explanation/Background
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On August 22, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners approved the License and Concession Agreement between Broward County and Florida Renaissance Festival, Inc. (RenFest), for Florida Renaissance Festival at Quiet Waters Park (the Agreement), granting a license to utilize portions of Quiet Waters Park to hold an annual series of renaissance festivals (each annual series, an Event). On January 28, 2020, the Board approved the First Amendment to the Agreement, which allowed RenFest to sell liquor and amended other provisions of the Agreement.
Subsequent to the effective date of the Agreement, Florida Renaissance Festival, Inc., was converted into a Florida limited liability company and is now known as Florida Renaissance Festival, LLC.
This Second Amendment exercises the optional five-year renewal term provided in the Agreement, extending the term through the conclusion of the 2027 Event and references the corporate conversion of the licensee. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement (as previously amended) remain the same.
The Second Amendment has been reviewed and approved as to legal sufficiency by the Office of the County Attorney.
