A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES FOR IMPLEMENTING THE BROWARD COUNTY BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY ACT OF 2012; AMENDING SECTIONS 19.40 AND 19.40.1 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

A Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish notice of public hearing to consider adoption of the Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners at its meeting of August 24, 2021.

Summary Explanation/Background
At the direction of the Board, certain amendments to the Business Opportunity Act of 2012 (the "Act") have been prepared by the Office of the County Attorney and are being considered by the Board under separate agenda items. As part of those proposed amendments to the Code of Ordinances, the name of the Act was revised to be the "Business Opportunity Act," removing the phrase "of 2012." The proposed Resolution, if adopted, would update references to the Act in the Broward County Administrative Code to align with this name change.
