MOTION TO APPROVE First Amendment to License and Concession Agreement between Broward County and U.S. Champions Soccer Academy, LLC (U.S. Champions), for Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium Concession Programming Partner (RLI No. PNC2116254R1), to extend the term for 24 months through July 31, 2026, waive certain fees owed by U.S. Champions, provide additional time for U.S. Champions to become current on fees owed, and defer certain concession-related capital improvements; and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same. THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On June 18, 2019, the Board approved a License and Concession Agreement between Broward County and U.S. Champions Soccer Academy, LLC d/b/a PSG Academy Florida for Central Broward Park and Broward County Stadium (the Park) Soccer Concession Programming Partner (the Agreement), which went into effect on August 1, 2019. The Agreement is scheduled to expire on July 31, 2024.
On July 13, 2021, Parks and Recreation Division (PRD) and U.S. Champions met to address U.S. Champion's financial relief request due to the negative financial impacts resulting from the COVID-19 public health emergency, including the temporary closure of the Park and its use as a COVID-19 testing and vaccination site.
