Summary Explanation/Background
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE SERVICES DIVISION (BCSD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
It is the policy of the Board of County Commissioners to offer building code services to local municipalities that seek to either supplement their building departments or transfer permitting responsibilities to the County in a full-service arrangement. For those municipalities who do not convene their own Unsafe Structures Board, they can contract with BCSD to have their cases researched and presented to the County's Minimum Housing/Unsafe Structures Board at set rates to cover the costs of service. Fees are assessed based on the most current County fee schedule.
