Summary Explanation/Background
THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The 2021 Florida Public Transportation Association's (FPTA)/Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged (CTD) Annual Conference and Expo is being held at the Ocean Center Convention Center in Daytona Beach, FL, from October 24 to 27, 2021. The Expo features vehicle displays along with Exhibitor booths. Proterra is a Platinum Sponsor for this year's state transit association conference and has requested the use of a recently delivered Broward County Transit Proterra electric bus to be showcased (display only) at the Expo. Proterra has agreed to assume all costs and expenses for the transportation of the bus, via flatbed truck, to and from Broward County to the event in Daytona Beach, as well as all legal and insurance requirements that the County will require.
