Summary Explanation/Background

COUNTY ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

As discussed by the Board on August 18, 2021, the County Administrator provided for an optional employee payroll deduction, as permitted pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 112.171, to allow employees to donate toward Broward County’s coordinated response to support the relief effort related to the 2021 Haiti Earthquake.

During the discussion, there was a request for an alternate entity be considered the recipient of funds collected through the optional employee payroll deduction.

This item, if approved, would designate Hope for Haiti as the recipient of the funds collected through this optional employee payroll deduction.
