Summary Explanation/Background
THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Urban Planning Division has received a request to vacate a portion of a ten-foot utility easement and a portion of a five-foot sidewalk easement lying within Tract A of Airpax Electronics Incorporated Plat, as recorded in Plat Book 64, Page 7, generally located on the Northeast corner of Northwest 16 Street and West Sunrise Boulevard in the City of Plantation. Vacating these easements will provide clear and unencumbered title to the property owner.
The City of Plantation adopted Ordinance No. 12900 on August 3, 2021, granting approval of the abandonment and vacation of a portion of a ten-foot utility easement and a portion of a five-foot sidewalk easement. The sidewalk easement being vacated by this request will be replaced with a continuous sidewalk within the right of way of Northwest 16 Street and Northwest 66 Avenue which is being coordinated during site plan review with the City of Plantation.
Review of this application by the applicable reviewing agencies indicates that there is no objection to the abandonment and vacation of these subject easements.
This vacation application has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney (Exhibit 1).
