Summary Explanation/Background
THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This action approves an FDOT PTGA to provide grant funding for the APM Project at FLL.

The proposed APM Project will comprise of approximately 8,000 linear feet of elevated, dual-lane guideway that will navigate through the landside areas of the terminals within FLL. The APM Project, once fully complete, will comprise a bi-directional system with up to seven stations within the terminal area, providing entrance and exit access to each of the terminals as well as the Palm, Cypress, and Hibiscus Garages, and the future Intermodal Center at FLL. The project will enhance FLL's landside capacity, efficiency, and connectivity. With the continuous annual passenger growth at FLL, the APM will relieve congestion along Terminal Drive and passenger access to the terminal core.
