Summary Explanation/Background

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE ACCOUNTING DIVISION, AND THE TRANSPORATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

The Transportation Department requests approval for 14 staff members to travel to Tampa, Florida from June 6 - 8, 2022, to attend the Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA)/Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)/Center for Urban Transportation Research’s (CUTR) Professional Development Workshop and Transit Safety and Operations Summit (Conference) (Exhibit 1).

 

The statewide workshop offers a unique professional development opportunity for Florida’s public transportation supervisors, front-line employees, and other key staff in operations, maintenance, safety and security, marketing, planning and administration.  This one-stop-workshop provides excellent opportunities for staff to learn from nationwide industry exports, attend professional development training, and gather information about innovative industry research, and network with peers.
