Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, the Board shall make all awards, and authorize the execution of the associated contracts, with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides two sources for paint and body repairs for transit buses for Broward County Transportation Department and various other Broward County agencies that may have need of these services and products.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development did not establish a Disadvantage Business Enterprise participation goal for this project (Exhibit 2).
The purpose of this contract is to provide two sources for paint and body repairs for transit buses in direct support of Broward Transportation Department’s ability to bring damaged buses back to like-new condition in a more efficient manner. Work performed on this contract consists of but is not limited to panel repairs; removing dirt, rust, grease, and chemicals; repairing collision damage; replacing exterior graphics; refinishing; and painting all or portions of vehicle bodies. Pricing for repair parts and paint materials is based on a firm, fixed percentage discount from published list prices in order to receive the most competitive prices.
The Broward County Transportation Department has reviewed the bids submitted by ABC Bus, Inc. and CoachCrafters, Inc. and concurs with the recommendation for multiple award (Exhibit 3).
The Purchasing Division has researched the prices submitted by the recommended bidders, ABC Bus, Inc. and CoachCrafters, Inc., and determined that the prices submitted are fair, reasonable, and aligned with the estimate (Exhibit 4).
The bid posted on December 22, 2021 and opened on February 16, 2022: two bids were received with no declinations (Exhibit 1).
The Recommendation for Award was posted on the Purchasing Division website from April 12 - 19, 2022. There was no protest or appeal filed regarding this procurement.
The amounts referenced in this agenda item were rounded to the nearest whole dollar. Vendor payments will be based on the actual total bid amount. The bid tabulation reflects the actual amount of the award.
The initial contract period shall begin on the date of award and end one year from that date.
