MOTION TO AWARD open-end contract to low responsive, responsible bidder, Juniper Landscaping of Florida, LLC dba Juniper, for Greenways and Miscellaneous Landscaping Maintenance, Bid No. BLD2123333B1, for the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division, in the annual estimated amount of $1,300,270, which includes allowances for miscellaneous services, parts and materials, and permits and fees in the annual estimated amount of $97,000; and authorize the Director of Purchasing to renew the contract for two one-year periods, for a three-year potential estimated amount of $3,900,810.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, the Board shall make all awards, and authorize the execution of the associated contracts, with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract.
What Action Accomplishes
The purpose of this contract is to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to perform greenways and miscellaneous landscaping maintenance at various Broward County locations for the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division.

THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE MAINTENANCE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) established a County Business Enterprise (CBE) goal of 25% for this contract. Juniper Landscaping of Florida, LLC dba Juniper committed to 25% CBE participation, which has been reviewed and approved by OESBD (Exhibit 2).
