Summary Explanation/Background
On March 26, 2019, a truck driven by Defendant Andrey Luis Beltran Sokolov and owned by Defendant R. Martinez Transport Corporation struck the Sheridan Street overpass on the Florida Turnpike, causing significant structural damage.
Broward County has agreed to release the Defendants Andrey Luis Beltran Sokolov and R. Martinez Transport Corporation from all claims arising from the incident in exchange for payment of $350,000.00 to the County, which includes costs and attorney’s fees, subject to Board approval.
The Risk Management Division and Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division recommend approval of this settlement.
