In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.33, Issuance of Competitive Solicitations, Board approval is required prior to advertisement of RFPs, RLIs, and RFQs that have an anticipated value of more than $500,000.

Approves a Request for Proposals solicitation to engage the services of a qualified firm to provide continuing engineering services for new water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm water collection projects.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) established a County Business Enterprise participation goal of 25% for this project. The OESBD determined that this project is not subject to the Broward County Workforce Investment Program (Exhibit 2).

The purpose of this solicitation is to engage the services of a qualified firm on a continuing basis to provide design, permitting, and engineering services during construction for new water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm water collection projects. In accordance with Section 287.055, Florida Statutes, as amended, the estimated construction cost of each individual project under the continuing contract cannot exceed the applicable statutory thresholds.
