Summary Explanation/Background

On March 1, 2017, the County and Fazio Limited Partnership entered into a lease agreement for approximately 10,469 square feet of office space located at 315 SE 7th Street, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301, for the continued use by the State Attorney’s Office. The proposed Second Amendment extends the lease term to March 31, 2026, and grants the County an additional month-to-month tenancy through December 31, 2026.  The proposed term extension would allow the State Attorney’s Office to remain in the leased premises until the completion of the Broward County Judicial Complex East Wing renovation project, which is ongoing.

The proposed Second Amendment also addresses the rental rate of the leased premises during the extended term and month-to-month tenancy, as more particularly described in Exhibit B of the Second Amendment.  The Second Amendment further grants the County 25 reserved parking spaces at a rate of $55 per space per month during the abovementioned extension periods.

All documents have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
