A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE THOUSAND ($5,000) TO THE DELTA EDUCATION AND LIFE DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, INC.; DIRECTING THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR TO TAKE ALL ADMINISTRATIVE AND BUDGETARY ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE DONATION; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

B. MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution to accept donations in the amount of $5,000 from multiple donors to be deposited in the General Fund for the dedicated purpose of donating to a scholarship fund at the Delta Education and Life Development Foundation, Inc.; and authorizing the County Administrator to take all administrative and budgetary actions to implement acceptance.

Additional donations were made, totaling $5,000, that were not included in the previous resolution that was approved by the Board.
Summary Explanation/Background
Motion A authorizes a donation in the amount of $5,000 to a scholarship fund established in Ms. Henry’s honor at Delta Education and Life Development Foundation, Inc. (“DELDF”). The Board previously approved a donation to the scholarship fund in the amount of $81,892 to DELDF made from numerous public and private individuals and entities. Additional donations were made totaling $5,000, that were not included in the previous donation to DELDF that was approved by the Board.
Motion B is a budget resolution appropriating the donation of $5,000 which includes recognizing the transactions in Motion A.
