Summary Explanation/Background
On March 9, 2017, the County entered into a lease agreement for approximately 7,532 square feet of office space located at 12 SE 7th Street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301, for the continued use by the State Attorney's Office. The proposed Second Amendment extends the term of the lease to March 31, 2026, and grants the County an additional month-to-month tenancy through December 31, 2026. The proposed term extension would allow the State Attorney's Office to remain in the leased premises until completion of the Broward County Judicial Complex East Wing renovation project, which is ongoing.

The proposed Second Amendment also addresses the rental rate of leased premises during the extended term and month-to-month tenancy, as more particularly described in Exhibit B of the Second Amendment.

The Motion and all agreements have been reviewed and approved as to form by Annika E. Ashton and Reno V. Pierre with the Office of the County Attorney.
