Summary Explanation/Background
Carbyne for c-Live Universe has previously submitted a proposal to Broward County for an independent live communications channel for E-911 systems that would provide real-time video, advanced device-based location, and silent instant chat for incoming wireless 911 calls.
The Board discussed this proposal briefly on April 26, 2022 (Agenda Item No. 74) and heard an initial response by Sheriff Gregory Tony and Undersheriff Nicole Anderson before the item was withdrawn by its sponsor, Mayor Udine. The original exhibits to that item are included as exhibits to this item for reference.
This item permits Board discussion of the Carbyne proposal and permits the Board to provide any appropriate direction to County Administration. This item was submitted after the deadline for submission of supplemental items. The sponsor had multiple competing obligations related to the recent election cycle that prevented earlier submission of this item.
