MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on February 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of Governmental Center East to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO DELEGATION REQUESTS; AMENDING SECTION 18.5 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
Delegation requests provide an opportunity for members of the public to address the Board of County Commissioners during meetings of the Board. The Board's current rules provide that delegation requests must be within the "jurisdiction" of the Board, and that delegation requests must be scheduled on the first available agenda.
To ensure that members of the public are properly informed that delegation requests are limited to areas in which the Board has the actual authority to act, the proposed Resolution clarifies that delegation requests must be within the "substantive jurisdiction" of the Board.
