Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan map amendment PC 22-4 in accordance with Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Previous Action Taken

December 6, 2022 - The County Commission approved transmittal of proposed Broward County Land Use Plan amendment PC 22-4 to designated State review agencies; and January 24, 2023 - Set adoption public hearing for February 7, 2023.

 

Summary Explanation/Background

The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PC 22-4, at its September 22, 2022, public hearing and recommended deferral until the transportation impacts are mitigated (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 15-0: Breslau, Brunson, Castillo, Fernandez, Gomez, Hardin, Horland, Levy, Parness, Reiter, Rich, Rosenof, Ryan, Williams and DiGiorgio) and at its October 27, 2022, public hearing, and recommended approval, recognizing the applicant’s voluntary commitments regarding transportation improvements, affordable housing, parks and open space, and including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous: 12-0: Brunson, Castillo, Fernandez, Hardin, Horland, Levy, Parness, Reiter, Rich, Rosenof, Williams and DiGiorgio):

Amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan - City of Sunrise


From 83.9 acres of Commercial Recreation, 3.3 acres of Low-Medium (10) Residential and 16.0 acres of Medium-High (25) Residential to 3.2 acres of Commercial Recreation and 100.0 acres of Irregular (9) Residential


Approximately 103.2 acres; generally located east of University Drive, between Northwest 30 Place and Sunset Strip.
