Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT / HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE MAINTENANCE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) is reviewing this project for application of County Business Enterprises (CBE) participation goals; goal requirement will be issued in the advertised Request for Qualifications (RFQ).
The purpose of this solicitation is to engage the services of a qualified, design-build team to provide professional engineering, surveying, and construction services for the design, permitting, development, design and construction quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), geotechnical testing, and project management required for increasing the vertical clearance of the Sheridan Street, Bridge Number 860155, over Florida’s Turnpike to 16 feet 6 inches.
The two-step RFP/RFQ procurement method was selected to best serve the County because the step-one RFQ solicitation process consists of multiple evaluation criteria that will allow the Evaluation Committee to evaluate the vendor’s qualifications and experience. In Step Two, an RFP will be issued to the shortlisted firms from the Step-One solicitation.
The RFP has been reviewed with the County Auditor’s Office and pending matters will be addressed.
