MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement No. 24-EVSD-8210-01 between Broward County and Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc., in the amount of $784,920, effective October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024, providing local match funding for senior services in Broward County and supplemental rollover funds to purchase electronic devices to eligible seniors; authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same; and authorize the County Administrator to take any necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement.

THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE ELDERLY AND VETERANS SERVICES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE ACTION.
This action supports the Commission's value of "building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives" and the goal of "delivering accessible human services that holistically address the whole person collaboratively and compassionately." This Agreement provides match funding to Areawide Council on Aging of Broward County, Inc. ("Council") to fund an array of support services provided through the Council to Broward County residents who are age 60 or older.
The Council is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and funding programs and services that meet the needs of 483,788 seniors living in Broward County. Federal dollars are allocated to the Council through the Older ...
