Summary Explanation/Background
THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The Garden Park Districts were established through the enactment of an ordinance amending the Code in 2023 (Item #51 on the May 23, 2023, agenda). The Garden Park Districts were designed to incentivize affordable housing and context sensitive redevelopment along arterial and collector roadways within the Broward Municipal Services District.

Staff has received various applications seeking to implement the code provisions related to the Garden Park Districts. Staff's efforts have identified minor updates and adjustments to the language of the Code to address issues that have arisen as a result of implementing the Code provisions. These updates would promote better and more sustainable design features and facilitate the Code's original affordable housing and context sensitive intent.
