Why Action is Necessary
Nominations are required for at-large appointments or reappointments. This allows Commissioners to submit an agenda item at a future date nominating one or more individuals for appointment and or reappointment.

What Action Accomplishes
Notifies the County Commission of at-large vacancies on various advisory boards.

Summary Explanation/Background
At-Large board appointments are made available to County Commissioners according to the At-Large Board Rotation Procedures approved by the Broward County Commission.

The list of available at-large board positions is provided to each Commissioner in a specific rotation order. A Commissioner may nominate an individual to one board during their turn. The position will then be deleted from the rotation list and any positions that become available are added. The list is then sent to the next Commissioner on the rotation. After an unfilled position has completed a full rotation (available to each commissioner), the position is removed from the rotation list and added to the list of at-large board positions available to all Commissioners, thereby allowing any Commissioner to nominate one or more individuals to the position (see Exhibit 1).
