Summary Explanation/Background

The 2024 Session of the Florida Legislature resulted in a number of bills that, if signed by the Governor, may require amendments to the Broward County Code of Ordinances (“Code”). The County Attorney’s Office (“CAO”) has been and will continue working with the Intergovernmental Affairs/Boards Section and the appropriate County agencies to determine the impact of the new legislation and to provide appropriate legal advice. This item would direct the CAO to prepare appropriate amendments to the Code for the Board’s consideration.
